Professional Learning Community Academic Achievement
Question: Discuss about the Professional Learning Community for Academic Achievement. Answer: Introduction The teachers are ones who help in development of the children. Earlier the education system was teacher centric, however, the change in the system has made it more student centric. The essay will evaluate the impact of Professional Learning Community on the education system. Three aspects on which the impact of the Professional Learning Community will be studied are the influence on the students, influence on the workplace and influence on the culture. Professional Learning Community helps in proper development of the students, as the teaching is oriented towards the students (Mendez 2013). The courses are designed in such a manner so that the students will be able to get the knowledge in proper manner. Earlier, the most neglected part of the schools is the students who perform in an average manner. Professional Learning Community helps in accelerating the top students and the students who are in the bottom level. The Professional Learning Community strengthens the middle level students by giving them special attention so that they will be able to develop themselves and perform well in the school. Professional Learning Community not only affects the students but also affects the teachers. For the teachers, the school is the workplace. The teachers are optimistic about the development of Professional Learning Community but they are worried by the course content and the time given to complete the course. The teachers are under the pressure to complete the course in the given time (Ransom 2016). In addition to this, they have to indulge in the activities that will help in proper development of the students. Many times, it has been seen that the teachers have to get back to the original course of work as the students. All the students would have to sit for the exams and hence, proper Professional Learning Community might not be implemented in the workplace. The Professional Learning Community has helped in enhancing the culture of the country (Kullberg et al. 2016). The Professional Learning Community not only looks after the students about also after the teachers. The senior teachers and helps in the development of the teachers are monitoring the performances of the teachers. The problems of the students are also being addressed. Once the relation between the students and the teachers will be strengthened, the students will be able to understand the courses and will be able to develop the career and help in development of the culture country (Sjoer and Meirink 2016). After going through the impact of Professional Learning Community on schools, workplace and culture, it can be said that it will have a mixed outcome. The students will be benefitted because it will help in the development of the students and will not be limited to the syllabus of the school. The teacher will also get new ways of teaching will also suffer from the pressure of completing the course. The culture of the place will be enhanced as the students will be developed as whole and will contribute for the betterment of the society.
